That was a solid first period of hockey for the Rangers.

End of 1: 1-0 Rangers. A little too much end to end for my liking. Hopefully the Rangers start clogging up the neutral zone a little more. That was a nice bounce for Trochek and might have been the easiest goal he's scored while the goalie is in net. I'll definitely take those bounces while they have them. I'm sure the Rangers probably would also.

They're falling apart, they have no answer for the Benn line, especially when Jones is on the ice. He's had a bad game down low getting outmuscled every time. Dallas has been the better team by a mile tonight.

Game Observations 1) Shesterkin has given up some strange goals the last two games. 2) Rangers had plenty of good scoring opportunities but couldn't capitalize. Their shooting was off all game. 3) Their defense wasn't as sharp the second half of the game.

As good as we've been, you can't come back all the time. And no surprise, the Rangers lose a goal review and a coach's challenge. Toronto always fucks us over.

You have that two goal lead and then Vesey thinks he's playing on the first line and got too cute. Especially during the next shift after KK scores.
Jones came back down to earth tonight.

Someone please tell me why Jones has not been moved yet for a bigger, stronger player. He will be demolished in the post-season wars. He doesn't have the strength and size to handle that grind, nor can he outmuscle ANYONE. So why wait until it's too late? Where is Drury's foresight? Move him ASAP. If he thinks this kid's size doesn't matter, he is utterly delusional.

Tonight should answer a lot of questions. Dallas is a good team. One question was answered. Jones is not much of a solution to anything. But I was never a fan of his so I'll stop beating the dead horse. But another question was raised. WTF is Wheeler doing out there with Kreider and Z-bad. Those two look like they are killing penalties because Wheeler can't keep up with them. Sorry but it was a stupid signing - typical of the Rangers, though - and an even worse decision to put him on what is no longer the top line. At least Kakko kept up with them and played solid defense.
