Laffy has some confidence going now carrying the puck a little more shooting I was on him this season so far but hope he keeps up the good work still needs to work on his foot speed a little but at least we’re seeing what he could become , cuyle reminds me of Dubinsky a little ,hard working gets in front of the net good speed decent skill set not afraid to take or give a hit , kakko might be the odd man out soon Laffy really is playing with a lot of confidence and it shows. I didn't think I would see this from him, but it's great to see. I wish some of that would rub off on Kakko. He desperately needs something good to happen so he can regain his confidence and start producing. And I like your comparison of Cuylle to Dubinsky. Very similar styles of play.

Despite very little happening with KK's offensive game, he is playing responsible hockey. He rarely turns the puck over and gets the puck out of our zone, despite being a left handed shot on the right side. Yes RR, a little confidence would go a long way.

Anyone else feel it’s refreshing not to get out coached every game Yes! Laviolette has implemented a system that works and the Rangers are playing within that system as a team. The Rangers record is no accident primarily because there is good defensive structure. In years past, the Rangers would have fallen apart with the key injuries that we've currently had. Not the case this year because of the aforementioned.

This team has a tendency to respond to the first year a coach is here. The real test will be in year two. I fully expected to play better this year in response to the coaching change. But as a said, year two is where the real test begins S it does with every coach of thos team. Just remember, torts, Alain and Gallant had great first seasons.year two is where The shit started to hit the fan.

I hear what you're saying, but when was the last time this team played this good defensively. They Ranked 2nd in 2021-2022 under the first year with Gallant. Their issue in his first season was scoring goals, they ranked 16th. They finished with 110 pts with a 52-24-6 recors and second place in the division. Not bad for a coach who took over a rebuilding team that was headed by a college level coach for the previous 3 years. We also cannot forget that his first year was the season where Kreider actually woke up and played the way we always wanted him to play. I like Lavy and wish him all the best and hope he leads this team to where others have not. But Gallant was a fall guy for management who shit the bed and squandered numerous draft picks for dead end playoff rentals that hurt us more than it helped us. After that debacle and failure, they needed someone to blame and I think Gallant was very vocal about those decisions behind the scenes and made himself the odd man out. We also have to remember after Gallants first year and the Rangers trading picks for Gallants first playoff run, They had no salary cap in the offseason to retain those players and we got nothing in the offseason. So Gallants second season had less to work with than his first. Then in year two they trade for an injured Patrick Kane and we seen how well that worked out. The problems with this team is Ownership, Management and a Roster that cannot commit long term to any coaches system.

Yes, they ranked 2nd in goals allowed, but it was all Shesterkin playing on his head most nights, more so than them playing good team defense. How many games did the Rangers get outshot and outplayed badly that season? There are too many to count for me. They relied mostly on their goaltending to save their asses that season. They had zero defensive structure. It was almost a sure loss when Shesterkin had an average game. Team defense from 2 years ago to this year's, so far it's night and day. It's not even close. Shesterkin has had a breeze in the few games he's played so far this season. Anyway that's my two cents.

I was just pointing out that we been down this road before and there is a ways to go on this season. Winning also has a way of making things like that hard to remember.
