You might just give some thought to the idea that there is a world of difference between coaching minor leaguers looking to make the big time and a bunch of superstars with No Trade Clauses who think the sun shines out their asses. maybe, but if you've read what Ryan Lindgren had to say about Knoblock and his assistant you may just think he might be the guy. Ooooooohhh... I did not. I'm intrigued.
Knowing the Rangers the way we do - and their patterns of going after big names - I'd imagine they will not opt for Knoblach.

Understood, and I have taken that into consideration. I doubt Knoblauch is completely ignorant to the fact that he will be dealing with veteran players with fragile egos who make a hell of a lot more money than he does and who may resent taking orders from a neophyte head coach. In my opinion, those are exactly the type of players that we don't need on this team.

They went for Quinn, so Knoblauch could be on their radar. I will say that other then a select few like Cuylle. The Wolfpack are a veteran team by AHL standards. Most of our top young players are in other leagues, or up with the team already. Not saying he’s a bad coach. It’s just something for consideration when seeing the Wolfpack’s success this year.

Also with Knoblauch, he is a known quantity to the Rangers organization since he is already coaching for them, albeit, at the AHL level. But they know his coaching style, his strengths and weaknesses, how he is with the players, etc.

But Lindgren might be the last guy I'd think of as not being a hard worker.
The problem with the Rangers is that the top 6 plays differently than the bottom 6 and they can't/won't change for the playoffs.

Been watching this fucking team for 63 years.... that will ruin anyone's outlook.
But hockey is a game where hard work can overcome a lack of skill. But skill cannot overcome a lack of hard work.

What Drury does this offseason regarding his head coaching choice and player personnel is going to be critical. The more I think about it, the more I hope Kris Knoblauch gets the nod for the Rangers next head coach. He's done a damn good job within the organization and he's earned the shot. Apparently he's a very good X's and O's coach and he is very adept at making in-game adjustments, two things that Gallant has never been very good at. So those two things alone make him an upgrade over Gallant. All of the players that have played under him have nothing but good things to say about him. I'm not impressed at the short list of retread coaches that are avaialble. I never been impressed with Bruce Boudreau, Peter Laviolette hasn't gotten out of the first round of the playoffs since 2018. Joel Quenville? Forget him and the stink that is now attached to him. Give Knoblauch his shot, every NHL coach has had their first opportunity sometime, so let this be his. I agree with giving Knoblauch a shot. I've had it with recycled coaches, none of whom give the kids a shot. I don't get it. When the Rangers hired Gallant, he was supposed to be a coach that let the kids play. WTF happened? Dolan directive? That man is the worst thing that happened to this team. If it was him, the Rangers will never win a Stanley Cup as long as he's owner because he doesn't have the patience to build a team right.

To add to that: Gorton and JD hired Quinn (not saying he was the answer, he wasn't). The 1st coach hired by the Rangers in a while outside of the NHL. Think Quinn also felt pressure to play the veteran players being it was his 1st gig in the NHL. Drury comes in hires Gallant, who supposedly plays the kids, then all of the sudden has them playing small amount of minutes every game. Getting directive from above, or not a good system to incorporate rookies? Knoblauch has coached in the junior level, has Hartford playing their best hockey in years, YEARS, and has been an assistant coach in the NHL. If there is a guy who has the balls to play the young guys, I think it's Knoblauch. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

By the way, I think Othmann definitely makes the team. I felt he was close to making it at the beginning of this season. I think Cuylle makes it if Knoblauch is the coach

We are all talking from a HOCKEY perspective. But it couldn't be more clear that this is NOT the way Dolan thinks, or even Betmann for that matter. As long as MSG is sold out, nothing will change. We actually thought it was going to. But it was made obvious to us all that nothing changes with this organization.

Hire Knoblauch, kidnap Dolan - bound him, gag him until the end of the season so he can't do anything stupid, and let's see where it goes!...

Rangers have fired assistant coaches Mike Kelly and Jim Midgley. Gord Murphy remains on, or until the next head coach says otherwise.
