Well, I guess if there is one good thing to salvage from our postseason wreckage is now the Rangers get to keep their 2024 1st round pick, which was part of the Kane trade conditional to the Rangers making it to the conference finals. That's obviously not the case now. Whatever, just grasping at straws here.

Can we finally put to bed the notion that it's the coaches fault?! These bunch of overpaid assholes are just a bad mix of players. They all play one way hockey. It's fucking boring. Yeah. Too consistently there are issues with player chemistry and playing like a well-oiled machine.
Yup, it seems that no matter who's behind the bench, it's a weakness that rarely gets strengthened. WTF? Too often, this organization has to build the team again and develop proper chemistry again.
And along the way, it just looks like it's often 1 step forward and 3 steps back.

Do you think the New York Rangers have any problems selling tickets at MSG? The teams that advance will be teams that need to keep their fan base, Seattle, Florida and ? New Jersey. I’m not defending the poor play of the Rangers in last night’s game, it is inexcusable and depressing. Also we should give credits to New Jersey who played great and poised. They are fast, exciting and well coached. Since the Rangers fans will just bitch for the summer and come next season, MSG will be packed again, we can only win the cup every 54 years! There lies the the main crux to the problem. They don't have to win to fill the building, the sheep will keep coming. It's also because it is NY City, if any team in the league called MSG their home they would be afforded the same benefit. The building is sold out due to it's location and not due to the team that plays there. The knicks have sucked as much ass as anyone could suck ass and they still sell out. I don't think the teams advancing are doing so to keep their fan base. The kraken is a new team and their fan base is into the team. The devils Fan base is not as small as people would think and their problem is the arena is in northern nj and not convenient for most of the fans. A lot of their fans are in central and south jersey. Florida has loyal fans as well, their problem is geographics as well. All three teams stepped up and did what they had to do to win and they are all moving on. The lazy shitdicks that all thought their collection of allstars was going to power them through are all bounced in the first round. Tampa, Boston, Rangers, Avalanche are all in that club.

Another thing I need to comment on regarding this team. This is yet another case of having a roster loaded with high-payroll marquee names that ends up underachieving when it matters most. How many countless times have we seen that scenario play out over the years? Management throws boatloads of money at big names, assembles an all-star caliber roster, and they fall way short of expectations at crunch time. We've all seen that movie over and over again with this team. It doesn't work. You need hungry lunchpail hardhat players to get the job done. The Rangers have too many overpriced sportscars on this team and not enough jeeps.

I was ridiculed for my feelings on him last year, and over the summer. After seeing him underperform yet again in crunch time it’s time to make a move before he has no value left. They rushed the rebuild, and now we’re in the exact same boat we were in before they started. We got some good young defensemen out of it, and a couple serviceable forwards. Other then that it’s been pretty disappointing. Same old Rangers. They never learn. If Gallant wasn’t screaming in the locker room to stop with the cross ice/cute shit. Then he needs to be fired. He’s a good coach, but they only have a couple year shelf life in the NHL. Hard to coach a bunch of pansies though.

Get rid of Kane, Panarin, Tarasenko, and as much as I hate to say it we should seriously consider moving Laffy. Sorry, but the guy does not play like a number one overall pick. He's an average player at best and he puts up average player numbers. Just going by what I see. I hear that Montreal would love to have him. I say great, let's make a deal.

It's time to play the kids more, not ship them off.

It's time to play the kids more, not ship them off. Fine, give them top line minutes next season. I have no problem with that whatsoever. Sink or swim. But if Montreal does indeed want to talk to Drury about Laffy he should definitely listen. I stand by what I said earlier about Laffy, there is nothing that jumps out about his game that suggests he was a number 1 overall pick and I highly doubt he is ever going to be an upper echelon player. Ask yourself honestly, what exactly is it that he does exceptionally well on the ice? He doesn't have blazing speed, he's not a sniper, he's not a game-breaker, he doesn't have any one skill that can be considered elite. I see an average hockey player, nothing more. Just being perfectly honest here.

This is someone commenting from that clip and I could not agree more: "This was perfectly said. Rangers suffer the curse of NY where teams are unable to accept they need to properly rebuild in order to have sustained success. Rangers will never do that and will continue to be a laughing stock of the NHL. Looking forward to the 30th anniversary of the last cup win next year to remind everyone just how much we suck. 54 years…only 24 to go now" pretty soon we'll hear 94 chants.

Personally, I'd fire Drury and the top scouting guys before I change coaches.
If you really look closely at this roster, this team is NOT built to go deep into the post-season. They just don't have the right mix of horses for that grind.
If Gallant is replaced and the roster remains the same, I don't see the results being any different.
