Could Gallant have made some in-game adjustments? YES. Do I want him fired? Absolutely not.
I feel this is 95% a ROSTER ISSUE - the caliber of hockey players and the RIGHT MIX of them.
That falls on Drury and whoever he's working with.

In-game adjustments have never been Gallant's strong suit. He does share some of the blame for what happened, afterall he is the head coach. The majority of the blame falls on the make up of the team (Drury's fault) and the players themselves for their piss-poor performance.

I will pick on Kreider to underscore your point, Len. But we know he's not the only one to pick on.
OTHER THAN the goals he scores, his style of play is SOFT, as he rarely finishes checks when the chance is there to take the body and he gives up the one-on-one battles EASILY! The opposing player takes the puck nearly 100% of the time. He pouts and speaks softly in the post-game pressers like he's the only one who cares. But his effort ON THE ICE is seriously lacking. He's one of the laziest players I've ever seen at his salary and physical stature.

I agree. Kreider has all the tools to be one of the league's premier power forwards but he hardly ever utilizes the full compliment of tools that he has. He hardly every plays with an edge, he doesn't play nasty, and he doesn't assert himself. Yeah, he can put the puck in the net and he's the master of the tip-in goal. He could be so much more, but he chooses not to.

In the locker room, maybe. Giving high-fives and hugs after games, definitely.
But ON THE ICE, DURING THE GAME, CHRIS KREIDER IS NOT A LEADER.
And that clearly showed in GAME 7 vs. the Devils. His effort and battle-level was dreadful - when it was needed most.

Hard to argue. The results, or lack thereof, speak for themselves.
