Though its best to go to the podium with the best player available on your board the optimum would be both best and need intersect each round. That said its near impossible. Therefore I'm try'n to find a happy medium.
So here goes??? Needs--DE/Edge,Right Guard/RT,TE,Large bodied WR,Safety:
Round 1 pick #4 - Ikem Ekwonu-RT/RG (Assuming Neal, Hutchinson, Thibodeax, are off the Board). Hamilton is a bit rich to take here for my good. Iky? Road grating bookend at RT.
Round 1 pick #10 Tyler Linderbaum C-- This is a generational Center but most importantly this move strengthens two positions as Conner McGovern moves to his natural RG position.
Round 2 pick # 35- Trey McBride TE-- No fool'n around here! I'd prefer swiping him now rather than taking a chance he'd be there at #38. This kid checks all the boxes of a TE.
Round 2 pick # 38- Arnold Ebikete DE/Edge- A Penn Sate dandy who had a great senior season and proved his worth. This kid can rush like a bull and stop the run also.
Round 3 pick # 69- Christian Watson WR-- This may look like a reach now,but I'm willing to bet he won't be after his Pro day and or combine performance. 6'5" 217 under 4-4 40!! Most impressive during Senior Bowl week and Game.
Round 4 pick # 107-Isiah Pola-Moa FS/SS- At 6'3" 198 he possesses the size , length and sufficient speed to effectively get to the spot and breakup potential completions or pick em off.
Round 4 pick # 113- Adam Anderson-OLB- Speed! Speed! Speed! Stringing out runs from sideline to sideline is a beautiful thing! 6'5" 230 with a 4.39 40.Overlooked at Georgia. Could be a sleeper.
Round 5 pick # 144- Jeremy Ruckert-TE--Double dipp'n here. Undervalued receiver his blocking is unquestionable. Hope he's still there at 144!
Round 5 pick # 163- Kyle Phillips-Slot Receiver/punt returner. This slippery kids production at UCLA can easily translate to the NFL. Will we have two Kyle Phillip's along with the Michael Carters??
Notes: Immediately sign Ray Guy like punter and automatic touchback kicker Jordan Stoudt if he makes it to the UDFA gang! There are some accuracy issues inside 45 yards(Pineiro can take care of that),but his powerful leg can convert desperation 55 yards and up. Grab LB Ellis Brooks who outplayed Brandon Smith last season at Penn State. We could use another Safety and CB. Acquire 'em via free agency. Dalton Schultz or Mike Geseki will complete the TE room. Love me some game breaking Chris Godwin also!!! After ACL surgery Jan 4th he should be 100% good to go early next season. Oh yea! Edge/LB Jesse Luketa can play this Game! This energy bunny LOVES to hit and tackle. At worst he adds to the depth to the defense and Special Team. Jesse's performance at the Senior Bowl must have sparked Coach Middleton and Saleh's attention.
It will be near impossible to screw up this off season!!! Basically the theme of this draft is primarily getting Zach Wilson help on both sides of the ball! Get it done Joe!!! Side note: No more age 30 something year olds! This is year three of a rebuild! Stay young!!!
