Holy Shit, don't know about anyone else but this phony fucking crowd Noice they are using is becoming very annoying. Its constant noise. Crowds aren't screaming, every dam second of every inning, and every fucking pitch. Give it a break from time to time, there is no crowd noice screaming when the bat boy picks up a ball. I personally wish they would do away with This BS phony crowd noise. This is not a World Series Game. Fucking Rediculous

Well, Tony, today these two schmucks on ESPN drove me over the edge. I don't give a shit about the crowd noise. I really don't even hear it. What I do hear are these two assholes who won't stop with the statcast, and barrel percentage, and OPS, and percentage of times the pitcher throws a change up and the percentage of times the pitcher wipes the ball on his ass, and whatever.
Jesus H. Fucking Christ, they have reduced the game to a rather shitty math class conducted by a second string substitute teacher who thought they were going to teach chemistry and ended up getting stuck with the math class.
I muted the game in the 4th inning and left it there. I can watch baseball without these jerks annoying me and I don't have to wear my finger out hitting mute for the commercials!
And the YES team is not much better.

Bob, I can't stand when the game is on ESPN. A Rod drives me crazy, and thank God Jessica Mendoza is not there anymore. And I don't know who is in charge of the crowd noise, but I was talking about game 2 on Fox. It was so fucking loud, I watched the game with the sound off. The Mute button was on. Fucking ESPN is brutal. Game is in play, and they have it on split screen, giving us the history of the Negro league. We know the great players they had, like Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson. But we were watching a Yankee Red Sox game, not a documentary of the Negro League. I am sick and tired of A Rod and J Lo. Go buy the fucking Mets, they are losers, just like Arod and J Lo. And the crew on ESPN are like a broken record. Brutal. |

We complain about the crowd noise, we complain about games on ESPN, and so on.
But between Cone, Kay, and O'Neil in the basement face timing, they are also annoying as hell. They are talking about Bruce Springsteen, guys are striking out, and not a word is said. They are BS,ing, paying no attention to the game, like a bunch of guys in the bar on a night out with the boys.
Batters have a count with 3 pitches, and they say that's 3 balls.
Jesus can they just announce the fucking game. Do we need to listen to O'Neil, in the basement face timing. Posada, to wish him a Happy Birthday while a guy is at the plate with the bat.

I will say that in general I prefer Kenny Singleton. He's got some creds in the game.

I love Kenny Singleton. Met him years ago outside MSG. What a nice guy. We had a nice conversation. All Class. And he was great in,the booth.Another guy I liked was Jim Kaat. But I go way back to,my favorite, Mel Allen, you never missed a pitch or count, with just one guy like Mel in the booth. In does days, White Owl Cigar and Ballantine beer with sponsors for the Yankees. Whitey's on the mound, looks into Yogi for the sign, he winds, he fires, strike one, right over the outside of the corner of the plate. Yogi back to Whitey, Whitey rubs up the ball, looks in for the sign from Yogi. Or, Mickey is at the plate, Feller on the mound. he fires a fast ball, Mickey swings, Line Drive foul by the length of a White Owl. Feller looks in for the sign. He winds, he delivers Mickey swings, that ball is going, going Gone. A Ballantine blast. |

Those guys, Allen, Red Barber, Russ Hodges, Harry Caray, etc, got their start in radio. They had to be descriptive. The habit stuck.
Two many of these clowns today are just lazy and read a script.

Very true Bob. Today they are more concerned listening to hear themselves talk and pay no attention to what's going on, in the field if play.
Game 4 of the Red Sox game was a perfect example.
See what I mean, when I said they don't pay attention to the play by play. The was a pop up to the middle and was caught by Torres, and Kay says when the ball is caught.
"That was punched up, and Wade is right there under it."
Gleyber, caught the dam ball not Wade. Wade was no where near the ball. They had a shift on for a left handed batter.
