I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan from the 68-72 time frame and learned today that Peter Green had passed away peacefully. He along with Danny Kirwan are my favorite musicians. May both rest in peace.

Yes Nicky, you're correct. Most people don't even know there was Fleetwood Mac before Licks and Suckingham. It took me a long time to explore Peter Green's era. I was happy with Future Games and Bare Trees. Once I did I realized what I was missing. There is a reason why they call him the Green God. Incredible musician, but I'll always like Kirwan more.

Yes Nicky, you're correct. Most people don't even know there was Fleetwood Mac before Licks and Suckingham. It took me a long time to explore Peter Green's era. I was happy with Future Games and Bare Trees. Once I did I realized what I was missing. There is a reason why they call him the Green God. Incredible musician, but I'll always like Kirwan more. Penguin was another great album from the Bob Welch era of Fleetwood Mac. I believe Kirwan was on that also. Heroes Are Hard Too Find was good as well (Bob Welch's last album with Fleetwood Mac, Kirwan left the band before that album). |
