So the soap opera continues and the star of the clown show is Jamal Adams. Evidently the allegedly flawed character of Ambassador to The UK Woody Johnson, has given Adams pretext to further his classless attempt to drive himself outta here! Now he's continued to critique both GM Douglas and Coach Gase trying to distance himself beyond repair. While I don't disagree with the opinion of Gase's poor communication skills and destructive aloofness, Adams intentions to publicly express it at this time was for the wrong reason and totally self serving. His is a one dimensional view of his employers situation and its totally directed toward himself. He claims to be a team guy but refuses to see the Cap ramifications of giving him his well earned Big Bucks now. If Douglas capitulated he'd have a shit load of problems with other(Darnold)deals expiring. To add,focusing on himself in this manner during these horribly complex times only further displays any consideration of others.
Douglas has already publicly stated he wants to make Adams a Jet for life. Nobody held a gun to Jamal's head when he signed his rookie contract. If he was truly a team guy he'd honor his commitment without malice and trust Douglas to reward him accordingly at the right time. Its obvious NOW is NOT it! He's also shooting himself in the foot by portraying himself to other Organizations as a loud mouth malcontent. Other players have actually taken a pay cut in order to allow their GM to strengthen the team they passionately desire to win with. He's not being asked to do that.
Cool it Jamal and trust the process. If you don't you'll never get your worth as you'll continue to drive it down!
Now whats up with the owner here? Has he exposed himself as a member of the 'good ole boys'club? I certainly hope not. If true, future free agents including his own will most definitely look in another direction. A redux of a Donald Sterling disciple in power at Jets land would be a nightmare. Take notice Goodall! The last thing this League needs are Neanderthal idiots in power! If we are finally going to live up to the words of our doctrines as a United Nation and make our symbols genuine these relics must fade into oblivion!
