You can add,we lost a brave patriot and nonpartisan public servant who blessed mankind with grace. Judging from the majority of those in power, sadly, there aren't many Good Angels such as John left. His example of kindness and genuine love of Country will be greatly missed.

Let's not get carried away. McCain was a warmonger who thought that every international problem could be solved by dropping bombs on it and he was every bit a partisan hack on most issues as every other GOPer. What he was, though, was a man who could disagree with someone about policy issues but not feel the overwhelming need to demonize his opponent as he demonstrated here during the 2008 campaign:
His friendships with Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Ted Kennedy are legendary. Reports are that he has asked Obama and Dubya to give the eulogies. What we have lost is a man who understood that to get things done in Washington you have to engage the other side on a personal level and compromise on the issues. I don't see anyone as good or better coming along to replace him.

"not feel the overwhelming need to demonize his opponent as he demonstrated here during the 2008 campaign:"
And where did that get him?
He "reached across the aisle" to hold hands with the likes of Schumer. Disgusting, nothing like giving the middle finger to the people that put you in office.
Friends with a murderer as well, that doesn't really prop up the resume.
My least favorite politician of the last 20 years, I expect the democrats to destroy the country, never want to see a so called republican helping them along. Kinda funny seeing the liberal media tell us how awesome he was, don't remember much of that happening while he was alive.

We can only hope we do with Romney should he win a seat. We need far more like McCain and Biden, old schoolers who reached across the aisle in dignity and friendship and worked together in compromise despite differences. The politics of personal destruction and abuse of power is disgusting, is out of control, destroying what is good and noble about America and must stop. Whether or not people agree with McCain's political inclinations, the loss of this patriot is big especially for those who are concerned about what's at stake. Hopefully there is at least a pause to honor this man, and people take timeout to reflect.

Rest in peace. A man who served America with distinction and honor. Agree on this 100%. As a proud Veteran myself who served his country with pride and honor, I have nothing bad to say about a POW who was tortured, and a man who was awarded the Silver Star, and Purple Heart. That's all that our condolences should be about. RIP my military brother. I Salute you. God Bless You and your family.

Oh no, he reached across the aisle and was civil to people that he had political disagreements with.....what a bad man he was! And he stood up to nut jobs on the right that wanted to spew nothing but lies and racist bullshit about his opponent, and called him a good man he just didn't agree with politically.....my my, what a terrible guy he was. Forget he volunteered to serve this country in the military, fought in Vietnam, spend time as a POW enduring torture, thought about other POW's well being as well as his own, served the country in the senate for many years, and put his principles above politics at times even if meant bucking his own party...….bad, bad man. Let's instead follow a man that did everything he could to avoid serving this country during a time of war (because he is a coward), screwed almost everybody he ever did business with to the point US Banks wouldn't lend him a penny (because he has no honor or character), cheated on every wife he ever had (because he has no moral code), and lies about any and everything under the sun in a tireless self promotion of his own interests (because he is a compulsive liar and megalomaniac) and would sell the United States down the river to the highest bidder if it benefited himself or his family financially. Yeah.....he's a good man and McCain was the problem. Thinking John McCain was the problem is just about as foolish a thing I have ever heard in my life. Think what you want, but McCain wasn't the problem.....to find it.....look in the mirror.

When I think about John McCain, being captured by the Vietnamese, and tortured for 5 years. Only 1 thing, and 1 person comes to mind with more hatred, that I ever had for someone, and that's that no good fucking trader Bitch to our Country and our Military, that no good BITCH Hanoi Jane (Jane Fonda), She should have been thrown in jail for Treason. Instead she went to Hollywood, to make millions. And never paid a price. I still have that picture of her sitting with the enemy, looking up to the sky while they were shooting down American Fighter Planes, and killing and torturing our pilots. And I piss on that picture and her every Veterans and Memorial Day. That Fucking Cunt. goo.gl/images/i9c4zf

Its most refreshing to read a point of view that prioritizes integrity and decency from individuals who strive for power before being placed in a position that determines the future of the masses. G-d Bless you and much thanks! I for one didn't agree with John's politics but as a man and Patriot he was genuine and a model of character and strength for all young and old. Sadly there aren't many left in this tribal divisive society.

Well I see it does not take long for things to get political around here. Apparently people who lean left think they are the morale compass of this nation.
RIP McCain and thank you for your service as a soldier and I am sorry it took death to get you out of government.
As you can see I created another board for this political nonsense for those who feel the need to drag this shit into the mix. I read all the forums posts and I can see there are people here chomping at the bit to splatter their two cents into things so now you can do it here. But be warned, any political Bullshit posted on these boards other then here will be removed immediately so don't bother.
Also, Be gentle in your judgments from your high horses because last I checked both parties fucked this nation up.

Where exactly did I call him a bad man, or a terrible guy? He reached across the aisle to help the other side, did they ever reciprocate?? It was a two way street, I would bet the other side was whispering "sucker" under their breath every time he "reached". There's an interesting youtube video of an old POW/MIA issue discussed in the Senate where McCain's colleagues and people that served in Vietnam absolutely kill him, look it up. "would sell the United States down the river to the highest bidder if it benefited himself or his family financially." The utter stupidity of this statement cannot even be charted. Financial markets booming, hundreds of millions reaping the benefits of tax cuts, stopping the ridiculous practice of the US paying for everybody else on the world stage, picking judges who interpret the law instead of trying to write it, etc. Thank God he's there to prevent the left from shredding the Constitution, opening the borders to everyone, and then paying for their healthcare as well! Says it all when they pick a 20 something girl with about a 7th grade education to be the face of the party. slapper-kind of disappointed at your comments. After all the bitching about the MSG boards over the years, you're saying you're going to edit the board? We're all adults here, we can handle some discourse, can't we?

After all the bitching about the MSG boards over the years, you're saying you're going to edit the board? We're all adults here, we can handle some discourse, can't we?
Please explain how I am or said I would edit the board? I freaking just created a politics forum for Christs sake so everyone can talk the shit all they want. I asked for it to be left at the door on several occasions. This is supposed to be the place to get away from that crap. But it is quite clear some want to so I created another forum specifically just for this topic. I did say if people start getting political in the other boards namely the sports board I will at the very least move it to here. Politics always start trouble and more often then not is creates sour oats between people that otherwise get along. If that is your prerogative or anyone else's then you now have the place. Also, I don't know where you been but we been out of MSG a couple years now and there have been some knock down dragged out shit said back and forth among members and nobody has ever been edited or punished. The only exception was over on the Mets forum someone was banned and it was by request of the Majority of the Members. I did my best to make the peace but that Member just could not help themselves and the problems went back years over at MSG. Some wounds never heal and the disdain was planted years before I had to intervene. I generally have a thick skin but to be truthful the editing insinuation stings. I think we have the most lax board on the internet. This new host site is new for us and I still have work to do but I think we pretty much let everyone run wild around here. There are the obvious subject matters that we all know from common sense that will not be tolerated but we have no filters on.
