Yesterday's may have been the highest quality draft for our beloved Isles in decades. Unfortunately the excitement for this fan is in suspended animation due to the advancing free agent process of John Tavares. Hopefully speaking to the five Organizations he chose to is merely a performance of due diligence covering all bases and experiencing the said process. John has expressed his desire to remain an Islander hoping everything works out at the end. So I ask, what does 'everything' contain? Is it dollars and length? If so the Isles are at a distinct advantage. Is it belief in the road to success? With the hiring of legendary Lou Lamorello and Barry Trotz their histories alone should satisfy the answer to that question. Is it location? John already expressed his love for the area. Are outstanding teammates surrounding and supporting him a factor? Anders Lee? Matthew Barzal? Jordan Eberle? Up and coming Keiffer Bellows? Concluding Nick Leddy's nightmarish season was merely an outlier and Ryan Pulock's breakthrough merely scratching the surface of things to come should certainly be a significant plus. So what is the issue? Get it done John! Wear that dynastic crest for the remainder of your career and you're bound to be rewarded sooner rather than later!

Here's another tidbit. The Isles advantage of the eighth year offering dies once July 1 arrives. Thus the virtual deadline that means everything is 11:59 June 30th. Should John decide to jettison outta here it would behoove all if a sign and trade agreement was reached with his new employer prior to 7/1.
