WHO STAYS, WHO GOES?
DiDi Gregorius Edwin Encanarcion Brett Gardner Aaron Judge Aroldis Chapman
Well lets get Judge's name off the list right away, he isn't going anywhere. He will be a Yankee. Didi I would sign. Chapman and Encanarcion, No. Gardner? Maybe sign him for 1 more year ? Either way, I am ok with it.

Edwin Encarnacion DH 37 NYY $20,000,000 - Aroldis Chapman RP/CL 32 NYY $17,200,000 - Didi Gregorius SS 30 NYY $11,750,000 - C.C. I'd try to keep Romine. Gearin, Hale, Kratz and Pennington aren't worth talking about. I thought Maybin did a pretty good job for them. Until Florial and Frazier can prove that they can remain healthy I might look to keep him around.
Gardner deserves at least another year. Can't really say enough about the way he played this year.
Gregorius? Torres can play short and Lemahieu can play second. I don't think he is worth what it would cost to sign him.
Betances? Who the fuck knows. What did he pitch this year? An inning and a half?
Encarnacion? Another guy who when he hits it it flies but he's old and liable to hurt himself on every swing.
I was intrigued by Ford on first and Voit wasn't fooling anyone when he said he wasn't hurt. He was.
Sabathia has to retire. He can't put his pants on without hurting himself anymore.
Then we have to see what Andujar is when he comes back and Bird if he ever does.

Bryan Hoch ✔ @bryanhoch #Yankees injury updates from Brian Cashman:
Masahiro Tanaka had arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur in his pitching elbow.
Luke Voit had surgery to address bilateral core muscle injuries.
Aaron Hicks will have Tommy John surgery on Oct. 30. Rehab 8-10 months.

No surprise at all on Voit - that was obvious the entire second half.
Minor surprise on Hicks. That injury does not heal itself but it certainly changes the math on Gardner/Maybin.
Tanaka did not seem to have a problem at all. No impact going forward. They still need to take all that money they are giving Encarnacion and Gregorius and get themselves a stud pitcher.

I hope we go after Cole. He's the best pitcher available and a stud.I can see bringing back Gardner for another year with Hicks out.I would also look to package Andujar and Frazier for another top starting pitcher or promising 1st baseman. We know both can hit,but both are also awful defensively and d.h needs to stay open for Stanton.

Good Post, and I agree with all, your moves and points. I only hope Hal, and Cashman think the same. IMO, they are no,brainers, and to add one more thing I would sweetened, the pot in a trade for a real Ace by using Sanchez if needed. I said this before, but except for his arm he is a butcher behind home plate. Too slow in today's game, with sliders, cutters and good curve balls, you need a catcher that can move his body in front of balls. If he can't do it by now, he will never do it. The guy can't even catch a ball straight down the middle,of the plate at times. I never seen a guy that looks at Strikes, and swings and misses balls off the plate. I had enough of him. ,

Andujar will have to prove that he is back which probably means that he'll be in ST with the Yanks at the very least. Frazier is a mystery to me. He shows flashes and then vanishes. His performance in the outfield was brutal and much worse than in the prior year. I have to wonder if that concussion did not impact his vision a bit. Brains are funny things.
I'd love to see Cole, Paxton, Tanaka, Severino, and some combo of Happ/Montgomery/Garcia/German in the rotation. I wonder if they can get it done?

Changes needed to be made so why not use Rothschild as a scape coat, to cover their A$$ of Hal or Cashman who didn't do much to help him by not signing the likes of a Cole or Verlander, or Greinke. All who could had been had by the Yankees. Lets put the blame where it really belongs.

They could have been had but at what cost? Just money Bob, when they were all free agents, the same way the Astros signed them. All they had to do is what George Did with free agents, sign them and put your money back on the field of play.
